Beta stocks

Shares in the second rank for frequency of trading on a stock exchange. On the London Stock Exchange, before the system was replaced in 1991 by Normal Market Size, there were about 500 beta stocks, compared with about 100 alpha stocks, the most frequently traded category, and over 3 000 gamma and delta, or less traded, stocks.
