Blue book

An unofficial term for the annual 'National Income and Expenditure' publication issued by the Central Statistical Office and available to the public through H.M.S.O. bookshops. It is a sort of annual report and accounts of the State's stewardship of national resources, and also contains a great number of statistical tables and other figures relevant to the particular economic year.
