Burglary insurance

A specialized form of insurance. Claims will normally be made for damage done by genuine burglars - uninvited persons breaking into a premises between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. This type of insurance does not normally cover loss through pilfering by members of staff or persons invited on to the premises. Persons forcing an entry between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. are included as burglars for insurance purposes, even though technically, by law, they are guilty of house-breaking as opposed to burglary.
