Capital flight


Large-scale and sudden movements of capital from a country, by residents or foreigners. The causes of capital flight include concern with public disorder or persecution leading to personal danger to its owners, possibility of confiscation, drasticaUy increased taxation, or rapid inflation leading to a loss of value by the country’s currency.
