Collateral agreement
 

 

An agreement or contract running alongside an existing agreement or contract. If the initial contract is void the collateral agreement is not necessarily void: much depends on whether the second contract restates the void agreement. However, if the initial contract is illegal, the collateral agreement will also be illegal.
